What stands between YOU and healthy nutrition?

Lets break it down. Do you need to eat better? If so, what is in the way of you eating healthier?

I like to think of it as your biggest limiting factor. Or hurdle, or obstacle.

When I asked one of my clients this week what was the biggest hurdle in eating healthier right now, the answer was that her kitchen was disorganized and a mess. It was THE thing preventing her from cooking healthy foods.

One of her friends suggested she set a stopwatch and do 15 minutes of cleaning to make a dent in it. I loved this idea! We took it a bit further and had her start with 5 minutes. The lower time helps it to feel more do-able and less of a drag.

This principle of doing less to accomplish more is absolutely true in this example. If you tell yourself you have to clean for an hour, you’ll never want to do it. But, if you say its only for 5 minutes, well that all of a sudden feels much more do-able.

Here’s the kicker. Doing something 5 minutes a day will accomplish a lot more than not doing it at all. When we make the goal big, we never want to do it, right?

What is standing in your way to eating healthier, more nutritious foods? What is your biggest limiting factor? Think about the answer and let me know how I can help.
